2026.3.25 Research Seminar of CGR Nagasaki and Semey: Radiation Risk Perception in populations affected by atomic bombing after several decades

This study is to examine contemporary radiation risk perceptions among residents of Nagasaki and Semey to assess how these perceptions have evolved over few decades, as well as the factors that may have shaped them. Particular attention is given to intergenerational transmission of risk perceptions, the accuracy of public understanding of radiation exposure related to the atomic bombings, and the persistence of the belief that even minimal doses above zero are inherently harmful, despite the fact that none of the respondents directly experienced the bombings.
