2025.12.15 Launch event of Japanese Translation of 10 New Insights in Climate Science 2025/2026

The 10 New Insights in Climate Science 2025/2026 report summarizes the most important and up-to-date scientific findings on climate change, and is annually published for and presented at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (UNFCCC COP). The report is a joint initiative between Future Earth, The Earth League and the World Climate Research Programme.

The Japanese translation of the 2025/2026 report was released at a dedicated launch event, with contributions from a subset of the authors, secretariat coordinators, and related experts.

Aimed at a cross-sectoral audience, the experts gave an overview and explained in an easy-to-understand manner the 10 New Insights and the report’s developing processes. Discussions enabled explanations of the science but also explored the relevance of the Insights to Japan. The event attracted over 220 participants. Feedback from the post-event survey showed that the session helped many attendees gain a better grasp of the difficulties in tackling climate change. They particularly appreciated the diverse viewpoints, which offered surprising new information they hadn’t considered before.
